~The day of true love OR a HUGE popularized marketing gimmick~

A single particular day where the men whole-heartedly fears, a day where the women feels like they are walking in the shoes of Juliet, and a day where florist, chocolate boutiques, gift shops are most happy of for this is the peak of their sales...forget the idea behind romance and bring on the $$! Men are too caught up in providing the perfect valentines for their women ( at least those who actually care too) becoming stress and splashing oh-too-much money on a flower that might have cost less that RM1 on an ordinary day and women anticipating the best valentines, topping the previous years, nervously hoping what their boyfriends have install for them... All these behaviours are so familiar when it comes to this time of the year, Valentine's Day. With the hustle and bustle of the celebration coming up, everyone tend to loose track of the actual meaning of Valentines.

I for one, have not had the change to celebrate a Valentines, though with the remarks above you might find me cynical but before you judge me, I would actually like to get the chance to experience a Valentines with a loved one unfortunately that has not come knocking on my door yet. After the many "missed" opportunities, I do wonder to myself, what do i expect of my Valentines? Here i am a sucker for romance and i am surrounded by people joyfully describing their romantic valentines experience topped with gifts and suprises and i admit to myself, I do want to be a part of such eventful day, being pampered and spoilt but then it hit me while drafting this post, shouldn't love be unconditional? Love is to give and expect nothing in return and I am thinking of my loved one now on the other side of the world and i wish nothing more than just to be with him so why is Valentines polluting my mind?!

I blame it all on the over-popularized, IDEA of Valentine's Day. Someone once told me that this comment, " Valentine's Day is everyday when your with the right person" is awfully corny, well i would agree if it was used as an excuse to get out of going through the trouble of pleasing one another but if it was said with actual love (haha you do not have to roll your eyes at this), it is actually true. Why wait till Valentines to buy flowers, or to have a romantic dinner or to do anything romantic for that matter! This can be done anytime of year and saves you a lot of money because your not doing it on the V day! Plus being part of the many people who did not celebrate Valentines, I have to voice out that this is discrimination on the singles (though i am not one currently). Everywhere you go your reminded that your single!! Its almost like a slap on the face to singles.

For example, I went to a cafe with friends with the "idea" that we have each other (hehe self-consolation...see!!! see what has valentines done to our minds) and it was a group of 5 to 7 people, what a blow we got when we noticed the tables were set in pairs!! We had to stand stupidly for several minutes till the waiters uncomfortably re-arranged the seatings to fit all of us while having the body-language of we rather give these seats to couples... HAHA...Second example, my friend went out with her friends too to celebrate and she text me feeling down that everywhere she turned there were couples and the gals were flaunting their gifts and flowers!! So does this mean on such occasion, it is mandatory for singles to stay at home and feel sorry for themselves because the public only welcomes couples?

Haih Valentine's Day, it sticks in your head and messes up your mind and ability to think rationally. What more can I say about this day? I am not a pessimist, again i say I am a sucker to romance just that there are several issues i feel strongly for. The amount of gal friends complaining to me feeling down and bad for themselves is enough to put me in such mood. Secondly few articles published in TheStar today gave me the inspiration to jot down my opinions and this particular article whereby four experts talk about love gave me the idea to express my two cents on the topic..LOVE..

Love at first sight....
I agree with Keith Miller, it is more like lust at first sight to put it bluntly. When i was younger i do believe in love at first sight but after going through several relationships it is definately lust or if you want to deny it than attraction-at-first-sight.

After a breakup, never....
plot the revenge or death of your partner. It is not meant to be so just LET GO and move on and you would find yourself falling in love again and two times happier!

The best part....
of love or being in a relationship is knowing you have someone there for you, to love you unconditionally even if your going through your worse moments, and not looking or feeling the best about yourself. Supporting you with encouraging words and making you feel good about yourself.

Fairy tales tend to leave out the part....
that they are meant to just make you feel good and to believe in love and that love do not come that easily. Fairy tales tend to leave out the part that NOTHING IS PERFECT. There are ups and downs to a relationship and the best thing is being able to go through that and to survive!

You can never predict....
the future, so do not take each other for granted and do not assume things will always go the way you plan it to be.

When it comes to relationships, people tend to under-estimate...
each other. Taking for granted that the other will always be there, forever, whenever you need him/her. Always receiving and not giving. Like i always say, it takes two to tango, two hands to clap therefore it takes two to make a relationship work if it is one way than it is better to end things before it gets worse.

Heartache is....
a feeling everyone goes through at least once, to those who have not gone through it I salute you. It is a realization that you loved, and a lesson...a step towards learning, maturing. I do believe that "everything happens for a reason".

Valentine's Day....
I think i have said enough on that! hehe

The longer you're with someone....
the more you know if he or she is the right one. Time would slowly prove its worth.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

~Christmas 07~

First and foremost a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!!! It is the end of the year and Christmas has just passed by, oh reminding me Happy Boxing day!! Well aren't I full of wishes today =P

Well this year's Christmas was grrrrreeeaaat! I would just say the month of December is my favourite!! Firstly it is the school break meaning my whole family would be free and that means going on holidays, most likely overseas, then it is the time of Christmas followed by New Year!

Like previous years, I started my December with a trip to Singapore with my family. I would not elaborate much on this for i am saving this for another post by itself. But I am definitely not leaving this out, my dad gave me and my sis money to do our Christmas shopping and this is what i got!!!

In summary, I got myself two handbags, one in white (been looking for one for a long time) and one in red ( this was a compulsive purchase for i love red), a red purse ( go figure), a beaded chain, a skirt ( i did not include it in the photograph) and Philip Pullman's sequel of his Dark Materials novel!!! All from my dear daddy!! Thanks Dad!!!

From my mom, naturally she ran out of ideas on what to buy for me and my sis therefore she too gave us money to go shopping and this i did in KL, and ended up buying myself two tops and a dress, i still have remanding money but due to the crazy end-of-year sale i gave up shopping and would only do it later!

As for dear sis, this was adorable, we were so clueless on what to buy for each other for we were actually quite satisfied with our purchases in Singapore till it was done very last minute and this is how it went, we drove to Jusco in Ipoh, split up and planned to meet up again in front of MPH at 10pm (sis forgot to bring her phone), it was like a race! We were rushing here and there thinking what to get what to get! In the end this is what she got me, M&Ms, chewing gum (this is coz i had to throw my brand new packet in Singapore forgetting that i was not allowed to bring it in), a cute little coffee mug, Ruffels ( god i so love these chips) and Loreal liquid eyeliner! Thanks sis!! muaks!!

Last but not least, my dear dear boyfriend got me something which i totally did not expect from him. Trust me, you would not expect it too if your buying something for a gal but dun get me wrong i LOVE the present, been wanting to buy it for some time now, he has been listening to me and for this he deserves a big huge kiss! Muaks thanks baby! He got me Sonic Gear speakers!!! Haha my sound system was not that great and been wanting a good one especially with a deep bass to blast it with. hehe ( pity my neighbours).

Wait! I was so excited about the presents i totally skipped the entire Christmas eve!! Well this year was something much different from the norm, we went to Taiping to celebrate Christmas with our grandparents and had Christmas Eve buffet dinner at Legend Inn! Yummm! Buffet!! This means turkey, steak, lamb, pies, mouth-watering deserts, oh this is too perfect! I am hungry again thinking of it!

Me and my sis are very satisfied with our turkey! hehe. Think I have gone carnivorous on that night!! Eek!! Haha so what? Christmas only comes once every year plus this is my first Christmas turkey!!

Then it was off to midnight mass for the countdown. I have to say i was a little disappointed because i was really looking forward to Christmas mass at my church in Ipoh. I really love the classic old traditional carols and the traditions my church took on Christmas day. I have gotten so used to it. But then again it is all about celebrating the birth of Christ and the time with family so my mouth is sealed. Mass was great but we missed the carols and we had to sit outside due to the large amount of people attending it.

After the clock struck 12, we head home, and it was time for presents!!!

My father was also in on the joys of opening his Christmas present from me and my sis.

All in all it was a wonderful Christmas for the year 2007! Now coming up, New Year's celebration and this i am most probably celebrating it in Port Dickson with Eddie's side of the family!

Lastly Merry Christmas again and a Happy New Year! God bless all!!

~Updates~

Thought of the day: - I do not remember when was the last time i had a good laugh-

Well, it looks like it has been ages since i sat in front of the comp thinking of what to insert into my already mouldy and cob-webbed blog. I started my degree in mass communication doing communication media management around the time of 26 july 2007 (correct me if im wrong) and now i only have another four to five more weeks to go before i finish this semester and then proceed to my awfully long and deserved holiday of four months!!! lol...

Before the complain starts, hey remember my course is a non examination course which means that i do not have exams but assignments. Sounds nice eh? NO!!! Let's see I have four subjects, Reporting for Print (journalism stuff), International Media Content ( boring!!! politics, cultures, happenings and what nots), Public Relations 1( AGAIN?!!!), and Desktop Design Publishing ( Killer!!!! It's crazy).

Let me paint you a picture, just imagine having four tough subjects ( hey it is degree...IT IS HARDER), each has about 3 to 4 assignments (which breaks into small ones too) then throw in the tutorial homework, presentation and research!!! Whoa!!! I have never found myself holding 5 refferance books, lugging it around college before!!!

It is a huge transition from diploma to degree....In diploma, we go to classes, zone, go back relax bla bla then it is the next day, only occasionally facing the adrenalin rush of assignments and exams whereas in degree it is going to college, classes, then straight home to rest and it is assignments till 3 to 4 am in the morning almost daily!!! See the difference??!! Whoa no joke at all there.

Guilty as charge for not updating my blogs but also busy as hell surviving in life. Blogging is my occasional urge to just type (to feel a little bit like carrie bradshaw in sex and the city) what i have in mind rather then a daily update on my life. You wanna know that, call me but i must warn you a lot of listening would be involve.

Have I gained anything from my three months of college? Yea i did if not the money would all go to waste, and also i have learnt to slowly come to terms with myself. Things have been very different in just one year and im still surviving. Trying to adapt but slowly. Different in ways academic, environment, emotions and a whole new load to my shoulders. hehe Whats new eh??

...... oh shoot, writer's block...its amazing how when my com is not turned on i have a gazillion thoughts in my head that i would love to share and type it out here but then when i face the comp and i finally picked something to start on i do not have must to ramble on...haha...oh well at least i updated something about my life right now... Now you know about my college life... well fingers-crossed for more to come!!

*if only i have a brain organizer!!! lol *hints for my chirstmass present*

** where would i find Ramli burger on the eve of Raya?!! Darn my cravings!!**

Ba Ba *Roar* *Bite* Black Sheep

What has Hollywood brought us now?? Thriller movies which involves animals which are usually twice or even three times their usual size includes killer snakes, sharks, or even animals that goes chaotic like spiders, bats, crocs, human-eating fishes...there are tons out there...

Usually with a stupid plot ( my apologies to fanatic fans out there ), lots of running and screaming then the defeat of the big a** animal. What's the point you might think? This is definately not the last of it. The latest installment is called *drum-rolls* "THE BLACK SHEEP" written and directed by Jonathan King this is a movie about a genetic engineering programme gone baaaad!! One single bite from an infected sheep will mutate its victim! There are 40 million sheeps in New Zealand and they have all gone mad!!

WHoa!!!! Sheeps?!! Sheeps?!! Sheeps?!! hahaha I'm sorry i cant help myself but sheeps?!! Aren't they suppose to be all fluffy and cute and tame?! Killer sheeps?? They don't even have fangs nor horns, nor poisonous stings!! What were they thinking?!! What happen to the nursery rhyme of ba ba black sheep have you any wool? Now it is ba ba black sheep please don't kill me?!! Anyone for that movie?? Lets go watch killer sheeps!!! yay!!

(oh my room has air-cond btw). Yea some might say reasons reasons...haha but when i am in front of the com....*blank*... Probably I have to owe it to the fact that I have not been using my brain for any serious thinking! oh gosh what have i become?!!! ~Sighs of relief~

Got back from Kl and got myself into an uncomfortable situation. On the eve of my trip to Lang Tengah my parents decided to finally get the lump on my neck check and make an appointment. After three check up and opinions from ENTs, i did my final check up and to get a final opinion before we decide on operation at Ipoh Specialist Centre. The doctor, an elder man started the routine check up, again i had the tube thingy put up my nose into my throat!! Ugh!! hate it!!!
He said he felt two lumps!!! And they are kinda deep inside and its near my facial nerve. He said just as a warning and precaution that IF the doctor injure the nerve my whole right side of my face will droop and i will have no control over it. eek!!! Said he himself do not dare carry out the operation and will refer me to someone else more professional...whoa that scared my parents enough. Then we went to our GP which I have been seeing since i was a baby to ask for advice and to recommend any surgeons or ENT specialist. He referred me to a surgeon name DR.Manu so that's where we went right after.
I was then tired of having people touching the lump and worried of the outcome. DR.Manu turns out to be a very friendly and professional looking man. He took it so lightly saying that this case is common and he sees it very often. He did countless operations like mine. Said that the lump is just at the surface and about the facial nerve thingy it is far from that and that the previous doctor mentioned it just as a precaution against legal lawsuits if anything happen. The lump is not malignant nor cancerous but they will still send it for biopsy to do further checkup. *Big sigh of relief* thank god!!
Haha i cant really remember the medical terms for the possible case for the lump but i remember something to do with either the lymph nodes or the parotid glen which is actually the salivary glen? haha i dunno le but it is not serious and that's all that matter. My operation is schedule on Monday 4Th June 2007!! I'm just so nervous. First time going to the hospital and doing such surgery that needs GA...eek!! Pray that everything will be fine!!
Well on a much lighter note, I'm headed off to Lang Tengah in approximately one more hour hehe...driving there with family. I might have to help drive too coz it is for 6 hours!! Another birthday celebrated in another state or country! haha I cant seem to celebrate with friends on my birthday...Oh well at least I'm lucky to be somewhere on a holiday also to celebrate my birthday and this year it would be Lang Tengah!! Hope everything goes well and it would be enjoyable!!
So i did my duty and updated this blog!! Hehe!! well I'm off to Lang Tengah!! Till next time!!
~Cheers~

~Hovering Vultures~

That was what we were just to get three tickets to the movie "Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End". Actually this event happened sometime ago but i feel that it was worth jotting down such a silly yet memorable memory.

It happened on the world released day which im not mistaken on a Thursday,24th May 2007.. We did not pre-buy any tickets nor made any reservation. Actually Eddie did but it was only for the two of us and in the last minute Nadeem wanted to join us therefore we decided to go to Midvalley to try our luck. By then Eddie was cranky from sleep...hehe so he waited at McD while me and Nadeem plot to get our tickets. hehe...Surprise of all surprises all tickets were sold out and the only seats left were the ones right at the front row and THAT too was selling fast. We had our eyes on the 7o'clock movie and there were two rows of seats on reserve. That means if we get there at 6.30 sharp and the reservation is open we get the tickets!!!

So, i went in line first and then Nadeem let about 10 to 15 people between us before he too join the line. And the line...gosh it was like lining up for one of the rides in Genting! Crazily long. I waited and waited..handphone in my hand constantly checking the time...6.15!! Shit.. i was already reaching the counter... 6.20...I put on a puppy dog face and asked if they can release the tickets early..."It's just 10 more minutes...!" No was the answer i got. So i waited by the side and signaled Nadeem. 6.25pm he was somewhere in the front already but the clock at GSC was slow!! darn it!!! how how?? hahaha so kindly he let a few people in front of him and more and more...Till i signaled it was 6.30pm!!! We both went straight to the counter and got ourselves 3 tickets at the thrid row from the back!!! whoa!!!

Haha i admit it was bad for hovering over those reserve tickets which people made for some time but tough luck. We waited in line...we followed the rules...hehe so what can be done?? The movie was so worth the wait and the trouble we went through!!

Orlando!!! dear dear orlando!!! NooooooOOoo haha...movie spoiler coming up to those who have not watch...dun read further!!!

Why must he die and become immortal and the captain of the flying Dutchman?!! He will be alone!!! OOo can i accompany him??hehe!!! Hey actually it is a good thing...he cant see elizabeth swan!!! hehe only once in ten years!!! Did you see the ending where he kiss elizabeth's leg?!!! ARGH!!!! i swear i had goose bumps all over....*faints* hehe...looks like i am not over my little girly craze over Orlando Bloom!!!

Thumbs up to the movie though...I think it was very entertaining compared to Spiderman 3!!! That was disappointing. Though this pirates movie not that much action but heck i like all those piratey myths and legends... "Yo- ho Yo- Ho a pirate life for me".

The best still "Captain Jack Sparrow"! All hail!!

A King is born? Elizabeth Swan from high society to a pirate.

Will Turner *Sigh* gorgeous Will hehe!

*Girly shrills* I met Chester Bennington up close!!

*Gasps*Starstruck*Shrills*Blushing*Lost for words*Giggles*

Well it all hit me like a sandstorm, not knowing I had all those girly emotions in me when Leon told me that Chester Bennington is coming to KL for an autograph session for the newly released album "Minutes To Midnight"!! Being the "Katak dibawah tempurung" and deprived of any means of communication from the outside world I had to find out about this info from Leon who took the effort to plan out everything!!!

After class we rushed there, getting caught in the jam (typical KL) and getting lost in KLCC, yes we got lost there...Hey I don't go there often ok! and finally locating Tower Records only to find it...suprise suprise jam packed with people like tuna fishes in a fishing net!!! I was dishearten thinking there is no way I can get into the shop, what more for a signature. We were actually confuse of the process only to find out that the entrance that we were waiting at for more then an hour was not the entrance to enter. We actually gave up and left the queue but then decided to go to the other entrance to just have another look for the last time only to find out that they were letting people in but in very small numbers.

Again we waited patiently and finally the guy let us in and we went straight to the counter, purchase the CD, got a giant poster and then proceeded to the first entrance where we had been waiting for so long, then it was smooth running to Chester but unfortunately it was one poster for one person and Leon let me go in for the autograph!!! Oh my gosh!!! I was so nervous and shaking with excitement!! Chester was signing the giant posters and giving hugs!!! A hug from Chester?!! *faint*

But....but...stupid Serena C had to put her foot down and told the gals in the crowd to stop asking for a hug from Chester for they had to keep the line moving so that everyone gets an autograph so when it came to my turn....argh!! I only got a handshake!! but wth!!! I was up close to Chester, exchanged a few words and got an autographed poster!! Gosh I came out so star struck and blushing!! Lol....Oh my freakin g**!!!

I wanna personally thank you Leon, sooooooo much for doing this for me!!! It has been a great opportunity for me!! If it was not for you I would not have met Chester!!! And thanks for the early birthday present!!! I love it!!!!! Though i have to wait till 15 April to get the album!! ish!! haha!!! So sorry you were not able to meet Chester though.... Thanks so much!!!Muaks!!

A few pictures and videos to share---->

Happy happy day!!! *Sigh*
