A writer's worst fear!

Sitting on the floor in my living room doing nothing on a Tuesday, when I am totally free of assignments and work got me into the drive of writing or more like blogging. Unfortunately I found myself staring at a blinking cursor urging me to at least type something but i am failing it.
Why does this happen to me ever so often when i love writing, when i am a person who can be said to be married to her emotions, when i am affected by everything around me, be it nature, the way people act, human nature and what nots and yet i find myself facing a blank white space not knowing what to write but have about a gazillion thoughts at the moment? Before I started this page i visited a cousin's blog and i admire the way she writes, the fact that she never let her blog down for almost everyday there is an entry and mine is left outdated and dry. I read that a writer should not care about what he or she should write for his audience, what they would like to read or would enjoy but to just write about anything I fancy and enjoy doing so. Do i think too much? Is this the cause of my writer's block? I may not know how many people actually visits my blog but i want to give them something to read, something to learn about, a piece of me...
Therefore as a solution, i went to my ever trustable friend, wikipedia! to just look up what exactly is a writer's block and how it can be cured and whoa am i surprise to find the results. Let me enlighten you:-
*A writer's block is a phenomenon involving temporary loss of the ability to continue writing, usually due to lack of inspiration or creativity. ( Well that is understood by most of us)
*Writer's block can be closely related to DEPRESSION or ANXIETY! ( which i am!! gosh)
* Henry Roth had a writer's block which lasted for 60 years! which was most prob caused by depression, political problems and an unwillingness to confront past problems!! ( gosh it has me written all over it)
SOLUTIONS
1.Setting a time and write whatever that comes, without stopping for some time
2. Taking a break, meditation,or doing relaxing excersices to relieve any pressure on oneself
3. Doing something out of the ordinary. Try to spark something from somewhere new.
4.Only turn to the writing after a day or two.
Well there are more solutions but things that i know for sure i would not follow due to my laziness and hard headness...=)
Oh voila!!! An entry!!! lol... Im not that stuck after all... Still hoping to be able to blog much more readable entries! Wish me luck!!

A Visit to RDA

Today on an early Saturday morning I dragged myself out of bed, refusing to move but I have to, because i have to go to college, take my attendance and go to RDA for gotong-royong which we promised them. I was so reluctant for i slept at 5am the night before...but i did manage to drag myself to the toilet, took my shower and rushed to college.. Then we all divided ourselves into groups and got into cars and went to Bukit Kiara Equestrian and Country Resort to meet up with the RDA people.
When we reached there, we had a group pic taken and also the handing of the mock check to RDA from our charity dinner. Then we were divided into four groups and off we went. I was still thinking we had to clean up something, the stores or something...haih...but only to be surprise that we were taken on a tour to visit the horses, feed them and also to stroke them. It was really enjoyable, seeing the different horses ( polo horses, ponies, stallions, etc) their stables, how they were given a bath, the food they eat, how to feed a horse, their training pad, the gear we use to ride a horse..and so many more. Luckily for us we got a friendly guide who showed us a lot of stuff and when one of my friends asked if we could have a horse shoe as a souvenir he said can so i am now a proud owner of a real horse shoe!!! hehe...
It turns out we did not have to clean anything or have a gotong-royong!! The tour ended about 12 and then we headed back home. I was really glad that i made that trip it was so fun and yet educational about how they maintain the horses. I would volunteer myself as a helper to RDA if i had the transport and time...but sigh for now both would be a problem for me.
P/s: nway im so sorry but i have no idea wassup with blogspot i cant upload any pics...so too bad...your bad.. hehe

Kind 'n' Dine Charity cum Buka Puasa Dinner

Finally our main event arrived and passed! A huge breath of release... For those who are still in the dark about what this main event is all about, well *ahem*ahem* let me enlighten you:-

The Semester 5 students of the School of Communication have to organize an event as our Communication Project Management class. So the group of about 51 students put their minds together and for almost 3 months stressing ourselves out trying to organise fund raiser activities, trying to get sponsors, send out press releases and media advisory and also getting the right media to come cover our event, getting proper caterers, getting the venue, etc etc It was one major headache and on top of that we have to also give priority to our other subjects and the assignments...Whoa this was one hell of a semester...

So anyway, we have two small events following to the main one. We had our Fiesta Merdeka which i am sure you have seen in one of my post, then a roadshow where we had games, lucky draw, stalls selling cookies and buns, t-shirts, and also donation boxes going around. Our roadshows went to Taylor's Business School, Petaling Jaya, and also Subang Jaya main campus and we were lucky enough to have a good response for each day we raised about minimum RM600 per day!!

Now to the main event, we managed to book Bukit Jalil Golf and Country Club as our venue, got the catering from a friend's boyfriend.( food was great btw), Sneha and I manage to get some performers such as Peacock Dancers, Aishwita ( holds the record in Malaysia book of records for longest hula hooping. btw she is only 10), 2 band performances, ComeBackKings, Human Volcano, Caberet singing, some magic shows and stilt walkers and many more. We had Emmeline Ng ex miss Malaysia to join us too!

So on the night we had all been waiting for, we expected 500 guests but we managed to push for tic sales in less then 4 days and managed to convince people to buy a 65 ringgit ticket, but about 400 people turned up. Mostly familes who took a whole table to themselves and the hall was almost full! Phew! Thank god. The event started with speeches then the buka puasa prayer, then the guest were welcome to help themselves to the buffet dinner, then comes the performances and gosh since i was in the event managemant team I found myself running here and there in stillettos trying to get the performers on standby and ready to perform till i did not have time to eat my dinner. I was so thirsty and hungry by the end of the night but all was worth it. Then when the night was almost over we had Aishwita going around in her hula hoop getting donations and that little girl amazed so many people that in 10 mins just by walking around doing the hula hoop she managed to raise RM720 that night! Go gurl!!! Then the performances ended with a stand up comedian act by the ComeBackKings and as usual they manage to make the crowd laugh till they tear up...

The night ended well and the usual cleanning up had to be done. Wait I almost forgot what is this whole big event about!! We the CPM students are helping Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) to raise funds and also create awareness for them. RDA is a voluntary, non-profit organization which provides opportunities for children and young adults with varying disabilities. The sessions allow boys and girls of various ages a chance to enjoy a safe, stimulating, healthy, therapeutic and recreational sport which have enhanced necessarily restricted and lonely lives as well as encouraged an element of personal independence and confidence to their self-esteem. A qualified instructor will help lead the horse and to provide support and encouragement to the riders, it is a one hour therapy for the disabled children.

Therefore the moment of truth, we promise to raise about a minimum of RM5000 for RDA and...after all the months of stressing, worrying, disagreements, and issues arising at horrible, least unexpected moments, we managed to raise an astounding amount of *ahem*ahem* RM10712.73 for RDA!!! yay!!! It was all a success!! Thank god!!! A good deed for the month? hehe and an A for our subject!! ( I hope =s ) Thanks to all who supported us and thanks to my friends who helped out!!

A Thousand Apologies!!

As the title said " A Thousand Apologies to my blog actually coz im sure i do not have that many readers to start with for not been updating it or adding anything in it for that matter. This is due to two reasons. The first one, is because i have been darn busy with college, which includes exams, overpilling assignments and finally my big event that we the semester 5 students have to plan. I will talk more about it in awhile when i have the pictures and time to blog. So now that everything is over I can breathe a sigh of relief but not too long a breath for I have a crazy assignment due this wednesday and me being the queen of procrastination is of course living to my name.

Now to the second reason, well I AM HAVING A WRITER'S BLOCK!!! Help me!!! Lately i do not know whether it is due to the overload of work or that my brain has just stop functioning but i find it so hard to think of interesting topics to blog about. Things worth reading... And here i am reading people's blog and wishing i could write like them. Theirs is filled with interesting entries worth reading and almost everyday there is an entry... Just take a look and see when was the last post from me? Sigh Sigh!!! I must make it a point to start blogging more regularly now that i have internet connection...

Like i said...A Thousand Apologies!!!
