Unethical, blood sucking leeches!!!

You can't live with them, you can't live without them!! They know that and they are taking it to their advantage!!! Parking their cabs in one straight line making you happy thinking it's so easy to get public transportation. They even have a system on who takes the next customer all written out on the whiteboard!! Looks proper and decent eh?? Well they may be, to their fellow cab drivers but not to us! the innocent, poor passengers...

I was recently a victim of this scam!! I was forced to use cabs as my mode of transportation to work.(yes i was dumb enough to choose Damansara Kim as my internship placement). If it is not cabs then it would be KTM to KL Central then the LRT to Kelana Jaya then the 21A bus to Taman Tun then a "short" walking distance to my office! Joy. Therefore I decided to take the cab to work and this would be my second week doing so already.

My first experience, not being from KL and being innocent and ignorant i told the cab driver i wanted to go to Damansara Kim and the fella told me Rm 15 ( oh btw I am coming from Mentari Court in Sunway) so fine i took the cab. It turned out that fella does not know the directions!!! He called a dozen friends of his and even asked me for directions! Aren't you the cab driver?!! So finally I thought the place looks familiar and accidentally took him to the wrong place and for this after finally fetching me to my destination he told me for my mistake he is charging RM 20!! So fine i paid and went to my first day of work.

The following reasons that cab drivers give:-

1. No! no meter. This area all no meter.

2. Tak de takkan dapat taxi meter punya ( dun have, wont get taxi's with meters)

3. If i go there, that area wont have passengers, so when i come back no passengers so another RM 4

4. Pergi dan balik untuk saya. RM20 ( To and fro for me RM20)

5. ( if there are other passengers there) upon reaching destination, extra charge of RM2, RM0.50 mesti tambah untuk setiap orang ( extra 50 sens for each passengers!)

6. **8$%$#^&** *slams door and drives off*

7. Takes me around the world, pass a few tolls, asks me to pay for all of them!!

8. With the mention of the word meter, ignored me, continues reading newspapers and ask the other taxi drivers to not fetch me!!

Are cab drivers now the "kings" of the roads?!! What's a meter for? A shiny device made to suck money from the government to decorate their cars?! What is the government doing to prevent these acts? Where is their attention focused at? Helping the Mat rempits?!! Adopting them?!!( refer to kennysia.com on detailed info on the article)

From all the experience, I became smarter and insisted only on using the meter. This does not mean that I do not receive the same harsh comments but i do get some honest and honorable cab drivers. Kudos to them. When i got in they immediately pressed start and when i reached my destination what's stated on the meter would be the amount they charge me and it would only be RM9.40 to RM9.80!! Oh my fre**kin Gosh!! And the first time was RM20!! Cab drivers!! Extra chargeed plus attitude what a nice way to begin a morning!

I hope that all cab drivers who do not use meters will suffer in their business and only till they use meters will their business prosper!
With love from me!! =)

Indie Scene Cafe @ Picolo Galleria

Well this is the other place i would be working closely at besides my office at Damansara Kim. This is part of my company's project. A GO community project and it is really interesting. To all artist out there no matter whether you are a singer, songwriter, dancer, comedian, artist or poet listen up because you are warmly welcome to perform.

Here are the details:- Indie Scene Cafe is located at Picolo Galleria at Bukit Bintang, it is just opposite Picolo Mondo restaurant if you know where that is. This place is a good opportunity for people who make their own stuff and want to try to find a market without paying for rent! To whoever who has t-shirts, hand made music albums, paintings, drawings,CDs, books, photocopied zines, films anything you local artist would like to showcase. All you have to do is to present yourself and the stuff to the store from Saturday onwards. Flyers of upcoming gigs/showings etc are welcome too! NGOs also welcome to come display flyers etc. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday there will be workshops in the afternoons starting at 4pm. We'll also be conducting workshops every Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 4pm. We're planning a series of mini 45-min workshops on publicity, illustration, songwriting, marketing, painting, creative writing, organising gigs, public speaking etc etc. We'll also be inviting singer songwriters to come play during our daily open mic segment from 6pm.

The open mike sessions are not only for singers and band players but also for performers and whatever talents you have and want to share it with us!! Besides that, when you get hungry, fear not! Our cafe will be serving pies, coffee, beers, homemade herbal drink and other snacks.

Food can be ordered from Picolo Mondo too if you want!! Sounds interesting?!!! It is a win win situation, we get the publicity for our cafe and you get to present your stuffs for free. You would also be able to share ideas and thoughts with other artist and gain publicity and reputation for yourself too. It is also a place to sell your albums, books, or things for rental free.

~Muh First DAy at work~

For someone who has not work before, well not entirely at all...As in never been commited to a job for more then one month, and to finally be working should be excited...WELL I AM NOT! Blame it all on Taylor's College for putting our industrial training right after my semester end. I only got 3 freakin days to relax!!! WTH!!!Then it is work work and more work for 2 whole months and then right after that my final sem!!! Helooooo has anyone heard of a break?? I would like to get one here!!! Im not asking much but a week at least of holidays?!! sniff sniff...

SO as you would think...with that sort of mindset i went to work on Monday with GO International Group. A PR and events firm. Oh secondly i forgot to mention this, I had transportation problems...Yes yes i was a dumbass for not looking over that matter before i chose this place...oh well what is done is done.So I took a cab to work, got introduced to everyone...P/s everyone is hyperly friendly!!! I guess it is part of the PR world. Lol they even have developed their own way of spoken language. I would not say it is a fake accent coz it does not sound like it. Its more of a professional yet friendly manner... Im impressed...Would I be able to do that?!!!
*Noone is a born speaker, speakers are made.

So I was shocked when i saw the office of where i will be interning. It is on the top floor of a shoplot and on the top floor it is divided into half!! haha it is shared...Why, you may ask is the office so small, well i tell you now. GO international is a small sub company with Nova PR and also all the colleagues here have their main jobs elsewhere in bigger companies. This is their own company or as u can say more money. So here i am. On my first day I came into office at 10 and worked till 11.30pm!!! argh!!! haha there was a launch for "Smart and Mobile LEarning" with UM and NMC communications. Something about WIFI service for UM students, in their laptops, and phones and stuff..very technological advanced based. hehe not really my cup of tea. But i wont mind getting them for free!!!! My first day and i attended a black-tie event. Hehe!!!

All in all i have been doing a lot of PR related things. Calling the media, following up with them, doing media reports and media clippings, media evaluation and the usual, printing and scanning and also faxing.. but hey its been only 4 days!!! I remembered me yelling to my bf on monday how i DO NOT WANT TO WORK! I JUST WANNA BE A HOUSEWIFE AND ENJOY LIFE!!!!! hehe... I cant wake up early for nuts le!!! But then again after these 4 days its been getting better and better...I can come into office anytime i want. The last time i came in at 12!! and noone was in yet!! haha and i can leave anytime i want but of course around 6 to 7 le...people here are helpful and friendly!! I guess the only thing that was spoiling my mood was the transportation and also no break after a tiring sem!!!

4 days down, 1 month 26 days more to go!!! LOL wish me luck!!!!
~cheers~

~Giving in To a Craving~

It is weird how just one moment your sitting down studying for an upcoming exam and suddenly you find yourself craving for something! Mind you it would be right in the middle of the night or you could say early morning. And the craving could be anything, from chocolates, to food, to satay! to even cleaning up your room. I guess in a way this craving is an accuse to just not study! lol...
Anyhow, I was watching television one night, after studying for quite some time( my excuse to runaway from it), i was channel surfing when i finally decided on Disney Channel and Sabrina The Teenage Witch the Animation was on. It was an episode on how Sabrina was fighting with another student to be the "The Best" in everything. The students were required to sell cookie dough in order to raise money for the school and Sabrina and the student both ordered 544 packets each! Well the whole episode is about them trying to sell the cookie dough and trying to beat each other to be "The Best" when the morale of the story is to try your best and not just be the best!
But that is not the point, while watching the show, i suddenly had this craving urrge to eat cookie dough!! And it was like 3am in the morning. Where in the world am I gonna get cookie dough? In the first place I do not think that Malaysia sell those stuffs!! Argh!!! I was on the couch with this huge craving and nothing to do about it. The next day, it got bigger and i was ranting it to all my friends who were online...
When I went back to KL i still had not bought my cookies!! for i had examinations the next day! It was killing me slowly!! Finally after a week has passed, I dragged myself to Sunway Pyramid and got my cookies!! A replacement for cookie dough would be cookies!!! So i got myself a cookie from starbucks, Chocolate Chip Cashwenut Cookie and also Pepperidge Farm's Chocolate Chunk Milk Chocolate Macadamia cookies!!! It was heaven!! and i finally satisfied my weird craving! This is just one of the few weird cravings I had and still have!! Hehe...Just something I thought i could share about and brag about my cookies!!! Do you want some?!! =P

Dangerous, Daring, Delightful- My fav D's

Freerunning/Parkour/Yamakasi

I came across this practise while watching a Madonna's music video clip when my cousin introduced freerunning to me. He told me that it is a new practise, a hobby, a lifestyle which involves people, jumping off high buildings, wall climbing, and running fluidly while on high buildings and the catch...they do not have protective gears just with their own hands and legs. This practise really grab my attention and I suddenly had the urge to blog about this after seeing my friend's blog entry which also talked about freerunning.

Well freerunning is a physical discipline, in which participants try to pass all obstacles in their paths in a smooth and fluid way. Free runners use movements such as vaulting, jumping, somersaults, and other acrobatic movements. The creator of such amazing art is none other then Sebastien Foucan.

Sebastien Foucan "The Way"

"Following a path can bring with it new opinions and thoughts, both obvious and those that are not obvious, You must always follow your own intuition. You must always do what you feel. Rather than what others think." -Sebastien-

As for me, why I am so intrigued by this art is because firstly it is something different from the usual norm, secondly it is an individual practise based on how commited one is to the art, it is more of understanding what it is all about therefore there isn't any particular class to attend to where you have to constantly go for to learn but just count on yourself and your commitment to excel and finally it is an act of rebellion but without breaking any rules or laws. Yes i admit that i maybe darn lazy at times and the thought of going for a run might seem like a gazillion light years away but i do think that running is a form of escapism. By running one seem to be leaving things behind, focusing on going ahead, and this is the time where you can be alone, alone with your thoughts without any disturbance. Well freerunning has the same concept but this appeals to teens like me more for there is a small act of rebellion. Come on, jumping off buildings, climbing walls all at such top speed is not an act of rebellion? It somehow makes things more interesting!! Your not just running a straight road but focusing on being smooth and fluid yet fast and agile! It is damn interesting i tell ya!

I am very interested to take this up!!! In time will tell... Yes it might be dangerous but of course i will find out what am i getting myself into and carried out more in-depth study of this art!
