A Monthly Trip to Penang

Last week yet again my family planned a trip to Penang, but this time our motives were slightly different from the typical relaxing and eating none stop! This time we wanted to visit the famous St. Anne Church, correction the new St.Anne Church. It was shifted from the old site to a way way bigger plot! No wonder when it comes to the St. Anne feast thousands and thousands of people turned up! Was wondering how the church accommodates so many people.

The new St.Anne Church

St.Anne the mother of Mother Mary, Jesus’ mother for those who do not know, was a very forgiving lady and prays for many. It is said that many miracles and prayers were answered and she is ever forgiving. Since we missed the St. Anne's feast this year, we decided to pay St. Anne a visit and to offer out our prayers.

The kind and ever-forgiving St. Anne

Then we decided to hike up a small hill ( the church has a hill!! Shows how BIG the plot is!) to the shrine of St.Anne, mom and dad decided not too hehe not fit! So my sis and I went all the way up to our destination.

Well if you know me well you would know how fascinated I am with old building or even the architecture based on the olden days. I love it! I even love cathedrals and this is one of the closest you can get here in Malaysia. Let me give you a tour!

Even the holy water container is so intricate

Look how grand the place is!! So peaceful!

And even the rooftop!! The design!!

Where do you get designs like this...castles??

Then after walking around the whole afternoon, we checked in to our hotels, rested, went to the gym ( hehe yea i went to the gym), did some swimming, went to the sauna and jaccuzzi then with an empty growling stomach we went to a nyonya restaurant called 'Hot Wok'. This place is so vintage!! The deco, the settings, the ambience...I fell in love with the place!! And the food was deeeellllicious!!

Well that was my trip to Penang... For the like gazillionenth ( is that how you spell that?) time. lol...I'm out!

Cheers!!
